Happy New Year and may it be a wonderful one for all.
John and I began the New Year by going to the Hopman Cup at the Burswood Dome. It was a typical Perth summer day (ie scorching) and the Hipstamatic app on my itouch captured the change in temperature perfectly.
When we first arrived things were reasonably cool and the aircon had not begun to struggle. The atmosphere had a cool blue tinge to it.
As the day and the tennis wore on it started to get pretty hot. The Dome was hot, the spectators were hot and the players were even hotter (you can take that anyway you like).
The spectators are beginning to show signs of heat.
The UK's Andy Murray and Laura Robson were definitely getting hot.
Their opponents (and the winners), Italians Francesca Schiavoni and Potito Starace were probably glad to get off the court and into a cold shower which is exactly what we did when we got home.
I do love playing with gadgets.
