Filling in time
I have been housebound this week with something possibly contagious so I have stayed away from everyone, especially the little ones. I have tried to be productive and make the most of all the extra time I have on my hands, but it amazes me that when I am time poor I long for more hours in the day and when I get those hours I have to push myself to make the most of them. Perverse.
So here is a little mosaic of what I have been up to. Greenery and gumnuts have been cut and collected from the garden; a little vignetting was attempted; a new hat has been commenced and is on the needles; the first of the primulas were admired and the last of the roses was lamented. A batch of fruit buns was baked; I made my first attempt at decoupage (with mixed results); and I have begun the quilting of the Vignette Mystery Quilt.
At least I have something to show for my enforced exile.

Shady Baby
There has been a lot of sun around here lately and the littlest one needed a sun hat. Now I wouldn't presume to call myself a 'hat maker' (that implies gorgeous creations suitable for the racetrack), but I can make fabric hats. So I got out the brown paper and some drafting assistants and got to work.

The result is the 'Shady Baby'.

She is very versatile and can be nautical

rakish (although a rakish baby would be a bit odd)

or just plain ridiculous.

Best of all she will keep the harsh sun off tender skin and looks just like Mum's!

Hats to dream for
I am dreaming of summer. A gorgeous new fabric range called "Drawing Room" by
Anna Maria Horner has arrived.
The colours are so vibrant and as soon as I saw them I thought of hats and summer.
Perhaps it is because we seem to be having a particularly cold winter this year and I am in need of some cheering up. Working with these bright fabrics has filled the sewing room with colour and has helped to dispel the greyness which I see outside the window.
I would like to put these hats on the website but we have lost our webguy. Mandy has been able to upload images of the fabrics, but the mystery of uploading other images remains just that - a mystery. Help!
It is nearly time to leave for my daily walk. Perhaps if I pull on one of these hats I can pretend it is summer and I won't feel so cold.
