A quick question

When is a hot cross bun not a hot cross bun?
When you make them in July and don't put crosses on them.
I have been wanting to make these for ages and finally managed to find some time. Making the dough in the breadmaker made the whole process very simple.
I just knead (pun intended) to tweak the sugar and spice content and I should be able to produce a perfect batch by the time next Easter rolls around - and at the rate that this year is flying past it will be here in no time at all.
