If ever there was a flower which resembled fireworks, it would have to be Australia's flowering gum. The tree on the front verge is producing these remarkable flowers.
Each perfect red stamen is topped with a little ball of yellow and they look just like fireworks exploding in the night sky.
This one reminds me of twinkling fairy lights.
