Art in bloom

We have been to the Art in Bloom exhibition which is held annually at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. We were greeted at the front entrance by a pond of giant water lilies.

A wide range of local people are invited to interpret the gallery's art works using flowers and I really enjoyed seeing how the works were interpreted. Some of them were obvious,

but others left me wondering.

In some cases, both the art works and their floral interpretation had me puzzled.

By world standards, our gallery is very modest but it does have a very good collection of aboriginal art.

When I came home I was inspired to interpret one of my quilts using blooms from the garden.

I wonder if I will get an invitation next year?
