Nana is a nanny in New York City

Imagine you are in New York. Your holiday snaps would probably include photos of the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park and other iconic images. My photos seem to consist almost entirely of food.

The farmers' market we visited this morning was inspiring. So many varieties of vegetables. I almost wished I was at home in my own kitchen so that I could cook up a storm with them.

Believe it or not, these are all carrots.

Can you call this food? Probably not in the true sense, but it sure tasted good.

And, course, flowers

tempting shopping

and houses

with the occasional craft shop thrown in for good measure.

Yes, I made it to Purl Soho and no, they didn't have a large selection of sock yarn. They did, however, have so many other beautiful yarns and fabrics I was slightly overwhelmed with the choices and walked out empty handed. Good excuse (if I needed one) for a return visit.

In the evenings, the littlest one and I put up our feet, which in my case are aching from all the walking they have been doing, while Mum and Dad see New York at night.

What can I say, this is an incredible city.
