We have just endured an horrendous week of heat. I love summer, but by this time of the year I am over it and looking forward to being able to wear jeans and woollies again. This morning I ventured out into the garden wondering if anything had managed to survive and, to my amazement, not only had some plants survived, they were actually flourishing as if in defiance of the scorching sun.
While I am left feeling like a limp lettuce leaf by the heat, these stalwarts do not seem to be phased by it at all.
If only I had their stamina.
