Waiting for inspiration

I have been quilting Melissa's quilt and have been making good progress. Now I am left with the two side borders, which seem like an enormous expanse of fabric, and I am waiting for inspiration on how to tackle them. Should I quilt them using a traditional quilt pattern, should I stipple them or should I continue with the loop d' loop pattern I have used on the rest of the quilt?

The more I look at the quilt, the more confused I become and I hope that inspiration strikes soon as every time I walk into my sewing room the quilt looks at me accusingly and seems to be saying 'finish me'.

From a novice's point of view, I think stay with the loop d' loops but whatever you do it will look marvellous! Lucky Melissa.

I just completed a quilt that gave me the same dilemma. I tried transferring the pattern from the blocks to the border and it just did not work. So, finally, in the middle of the night, it came to me. I channel quilted the border parallel to the edges. It said "Hey this is the border, relax!" It looks great and was right. Just another novice's idea.
